LONG JOURNEY
In 2002, Ian and his sister drove a block to block and tried to find the location for Ian's first bakery. As soon as this young man saw the street named Kenrose, he knew that was it. His dad is called Ken; his mum is called Rosemary. In his whole life, everything is related to the words Kenrose.
Therefore, Ian started his wholesale bakery named The Baker's Corner in 2002 barefooted. Over the years, this bakery had continuous support from neighbours even though it was only a wholesale bakery.
In 2010, we finally opened a retail shop front named The Baker's Corner on Kenrose. However, customers always called us the bakery on Kenrose street. In 2022, we rebuilt the whole shop after a flood destroyed the bakery. We are determined to come back for the better. This time we name it Kenrose Bakery.
ARTISAN BAKERY
This is always the place where Ian has been trying to express his understanding of baking.
We call our bakery to Artisan bakery because we want to remind ourselves:
Do not let routines kill the art of baking.
The food culture of our city is robust and unique. From indulging treats to special diet healthy baking goods and drinks, there is something here for the foodie in all of us! While everyone remembers our specialties — focaccia, sourdough, sweet & savoury pastry, pie in Ramekins, pizza bases— there are even more things to discover in this artisan bakery.
